Parks & Recreation: So Long, Farewell

It's been building up all season, but now "Ann and Chris" finally gave us the send-off for Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe. And honestly, I'm glad it's over. Much as I occasionally love some of the Ann/Leslie moments or Chris/Ben moments, I hass long felt like these two were out of place in the ensemble for a while and just biding their time until they could leave with their baby for a far off land outside of Pawnee. While some might be sad that they are gone, I'm happy we can all get on with our lives and maybe return to the Farmers Market After Dark. That place just looked like a good time.

Leslie, Ann & April
Leslie wanted to surprise Ann with not only a mega party that celebrateed every holiday that they might be apart, but to also finally break ground on the park that used to be the pit next to her house. Ah, governments. Nice job showing just how long it takes to get anything done. But Sheriff Andy from True Blood (a.k.a Harold the Jerkface) got all uppity about Leslie planning the groundbreaking without his permission, so he made her jump through hoops. It's one of those situations where she had to run around Pawnee doing favors for people to get what she wanted… the only good thing about it was that we learned that Ann and Perd once went on an awkward date. Why didn't we get to see that? And finally, there was the groundbreaking and April was briefly nice to Ann, and Ann asked April how long she'll truly be happy with small town life, and it makes me think they are cueing up some sort of exit strategy for April as well. And then there was the Leslie/Ann mushy goodbye that we expected, though not as mushy as I'd feared.
Best April Line: "Ann's leaving town. Ann's saying painful goodbyes to loved ones. Greatest day of my life."
Best Ann Line: "This is just a bunch of bras and knives… and loose onions."
Best Leslie Line: "Ain't no party like a Leslie Knope party, because a Leslie Knope party is actually 30 parties."

Ben, Ron, Tom, Chris, Andy and Larry/Jerry/Gary
The guys all spent the majority of the episode packing up Chris' stuff and trying to figure out the perfect gift to give their pal before he headed out of town, since he'd found thoughtful mementos for each of them. So after some failed attempts with lame gift cards (only to be used for pans) and a bag of paper garbage, they came up with a hand-carved box where Chris can store his new baby memories, which they all engraved. It was sweet, and nice to see the guys have their own moment that wasn't overshadowed by the Leslie/Ann drama.
Best Ron Line: "I also shook his hand twice. Anything more than that would be excessive."
Best Tom Line: "Snakejuice! I thought these were destroyed by the FDA."
Best Andy Line: "Ann, you know what I just remembered? We used to date."
Best Ben Line: "That card is for three pans."
Best Larry/Gary/Jerry Line: "That's Gary Jerry Larry Gergich Gengurch. I burned in all my names. I didn't know what to do."
Best Chris Line: "Carob cookies and berries are literally my favorite dessert alternative."

Donna & The Goodbyes
Donna kind of wafted around during the episode, but she gets a special category here for just knowing the right thing to say and do to send someone off. She was thrilled to mention to Ann that she'll be the queen bee of the Pawnee dating scene without her around, and as for Chris… well, Donna happily gave his butt a squeeze. Can't blame a person for that.
Best Donna Line: "Now that you're officially out of the dating pool, you know I'm gonna run this town, right?"
