Tomorrow Will Worry About Itself

When Stephen gets a moment alone with Cara, he asks her to let John off the hook. He says their kind are vulnerable and they do not need the two of them at odds. He adds that John loves her, which is why he didn't come clean about shooting Roger. To his credit, Stephen adds that he likely would have done the same thing.

TIM points out the irrationality of the cockamamie plan. Cara tells TIM she will need the time of Stephen's brain death, so she can shoot him up with epinephrine. John injects Stephen with the Phenobarbital. TIM monitors Stephen's vitals. As he crashes, Cara coaches Stephen to "do it now." Stephen stops time as Cara is readying the epinephrine, but of course she doesn't know that, because she was stopped in time.

When time resumes, Cara can't reach Stephen telepathically. TIM tells them they have a minute to revive him, before Stephen's brain is damaged. Again, too many jokes. Okay, just the one, but you know what I mean. Shortly after the 20 second mark, she injects the epinephrine -- but she injects it into his arm. Haven't these people seen Pulp Fiction? These people need to hook a Roku box up to TIM, then subscribe to Netflix. When nothing happens, John bags Stephen, while Cara performs chest compressions. I know just little enough about physiology that I can pretend that's what circulates the epinephrine to Stephen's heart. TIM calls time. John and Cara stop CPR.

Cara grabs Stephen's face and thinks, "Please, Stephen, don't leave us. I don't know if we can do this without you." John is surprised that they are SO CONNECTED, YOU GUYS. Aloud, Cara says, "You have to come back." She adds a tearful, "Please." The boy finally gasps back to life and sits up. When Cara asks what happened, Stephen says, "I saw him. We have to find my dad's body." Title card.

The Tomorrow People is on holiday hiatus. I'll be back with coverage when it returns on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. In the meantime, please grade the episode at the top of the page, and then come on over to the show thread where we're trying to teleport out, while drowning, if necessary. Programming Note: The CW has announced its midseason schedule. Beginning March 17, The Tomorrow People moves to Monday nights. I have to figure out if this makes my life better or worse. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
