Ricki took the top spot last week, even though the judges told her that her shoulders were too high. This week, she has the waltz, and Derek works with her during rehearsals to keep her shoulders down. Ricki hosted a charity event last week and got the chance to talk to Jennifer Grey, whose big advice was "Keep having fun." Somehow, Ricki finds that incredibly helpful.

Their waltz is to "Natural Woman," but more like the Carole King version than the Aretha version. I think I figured out what my problem is with Ricki's routines. They're boring. She and Derek have no chemistry. I can admire them technically, but they don't even hold my attention for the two minutes or whatever that she's on the floor. Zzzzz. So it was fine, but I was bored.

Judges? Carrie Ann noticed a tiny stumble at the end, but she loved Ricki's lines and how she loses herself in the dance, even if her shoulders did come up a little bit. Len says it was more of a river than a lake, and it was beautifully executed, although he can't give her a 10 because her footwork wasn't perfect. Bruno thought it was beautiful, especially how she finished her lines. Scores: Carrie Ann 9, Len 9 and Bruno 10. Their jive song is "Land of 1000 Dances" by Wilson Pickett. They both look puzzled but I bet if you sang them the "Na na na na na" part, they'd know it.

Last week, Nancy and Tristan got low scores, but their fans saved them. In rehearsal, Tristan jokes that their dance is about a love-hate relationship and he doesn't know where they'll get that from. Because they both love and hate one another. Nancy admits that she sometimes won't shut up in rehearsals and won't admit that he knows more than her about dancing. Tristan gets really frustrated because she won't listen, but they put in a ton of rehearsal time for their tango.

Okay, I don't know what the hell that tango was about. Nancy got all of the moves down, but her technique was terrible. Her footwork was listless, when it should have been sharp. When she should have been leaning back, she was leaning forward. I don't even know what to say anymore. Why is she still on this show? She's like your maiden aunt who thinks she's an awesome singer and so you let her sing a song at your wedding to be nice and everyone cringes but then claps politely and so she continues thinking she's awesome.

Len says that Nancy has plateaued since week two, but he saw improvement this week, finally. Bruno calls her a brazen jezebel and says that she had the right attitude for the dance. Carrie Ann loves her spirit and thought her moves were sharp (they were?) but she needed to point her toes more. Scores: Carrie Ann 8, Len 8 and Bruno 8. Their jive song is "Upside Down" by Paloma Faith.
